Russian Rectors’ Union is a national Russian public organization uniting over 700 rectors and presidents of higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation. The Russian Union of Rectors was established in 1992 on the initiative of rectors of higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation.

The President of the Russian Rectors’ Union is academician Victor A. Sadovnichy, rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University.

The main objective of the Union is to consolidate the efforts and coordinate the interaction of rectors of higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation.

One of the activities of Russian Rectors' Union is developing collaboration with the representatives of higher education community in different countries. The Rector Forums have become an effective form of communication between Russian rectors and their foreign colleagues. Such events are organised and led by the Russian Rectors' Union, Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Associations of Rectors of partner countries.
