NORTHERN ARCTIC FEDERAL UNIVERSITY NAMED AFTER M.V. LOMONOSOV (NARFU)

Northern Arctic Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov, located in Arkhangelsk, is North-West Russia’s largest research and training centre and a member of Eurasian University Association.

Being one of Russia’s 10 federal universities, NArFU fosters innovation and trains specialists for the Arctic and High North resource development. NArFU is the only Russian university being tasked with training experts of international level in areas such as engineering, technology, IT, humanities and life sciences with a special focus on the Arctic region. The University creates conditions necessary to support the industrial projects being launched in the polar region with personnel and technologies.

NArFU’s 7 Higher Schools currently have more than 15 000 students coming from Russia and more than 50 countries in South-East Asia, Europe, North and South America, CIS countries. Every year more than 400 students join international exchange programs and undertake internships in partner universities all over the world. Over 120 Postdoctorate and over 760 PhD professors provide a well-founded basis of knowledge for students of different levels: Bachelor, Master’s and PhD.

NArFU is an international university with partnership relations with more than 160 universities and businesses all over the world. Annually NArFU students receive grants from international businesses, participate in international projects and innovative ideas competitions, taking part in student exchanges within university partnership.

NArFU is a classical university offering a wide range of educational programmes in natural and applied sciences (including Oil and Gas, Construction, Biotechnology, Power Engineering), mathematics and IT, economics and management as well as social sciences and humanities. NArFU annually introduces new programmes including English-taught degree programs and non-degree courses.
